About Us
Maria Heckaman & Associates, Inc. is a northeast Ohio permanent and temporary employment agency built on the premise that a job search should be as stress-free as possible.
We understand that looking for a job or a new employee can be a challenging experience, and it is a goal of our "personal touch" philosophy to help make the process more comfortable.
Established in 1979 to serve northeast Ohio companies from start-ups to Fortune 500, we have continued to expand the types of positions we fill: from management to administrative, all the way to light industrial and positions in between.
We know the marketplace and have created a vast network of client companies and applicants. Our personal touch distinguishes us from the other local agencies so we're frequently told we're like no other.
Our Staff
President and founder Maria K. Heckaman is a Certified Personnel Consultant and Career Coach. Prior to starting her own agency in 1979, she worked at three other employment agencies in the Cleveland area. Her other work experience includes the arts, medical, professional services and senior citizens.
She is a community leader who has served on the Board of the Greater Cleveland Growth Association and COSE (the largest Chamber of Commerce in the country). She currently serves as Trustee of Slovene Home for the Aged Foundation and has served on the board of the Shaker Historical Society. She was a Director of Women's City Club. She is past president of National Association of Women Business Owners (Cleveland Chapter), past president of Hillcrest League of Women Voters, and past president of South Euclid Women's Club. Maria is a graduate of Leadership Cleveland, Class of 2002.
Among her awards are "Top 20 Women Business Owners in NE Ohio", Woman Business Owner of the Year (WBOA/Crain's Cleveland Business), Woman of Professional Excellence (YWCA), Small Business Administration (SBA) Director's Award, Church Woman of the Year, and the Margaret A Ireland Award for community service. Maria has also been inducted into the West Tech High School Hall of Fame in Cleveland.

Maria has surrounded herself with a staff that shares her values of integrity and service.
Linda Cunningham, the senior consultant has been with the company since 1989. Her caring ways have provided her with thousands of referrals by satisfied clients. As a Mayfield Heights native, she's firmly rooted in the community. Her prior work includes recruiting and benefits administration for such companies as Cole National and Technicare, a Johnson & Johnson company.
